Lanforce Energy is a women led for profit social enterprise in the renewable energy sector. Our major trust is to contribute towards the achievement of the United Nations sustainable development goals. The company constructs fixed dome biogas digesters for farms, households, hotels and institutions. Lanforce Energy provides access to innovative portable biodigesters which are scalable depending on energy requirements. The services are provided on Pay As You Go (PAYG) for affordability by all users. Lanforce Energy was founded in 2010 and began operations in 2018 after realizing the challenges that women and children face in sourcing energy for cooking and lighting.

Judith Marera 

Judith Marera – Chief Executive Officer

Judith was born and raised in rural Zimbabwe and realised the challenges that women and children go through in search of firewood for cooking. Women and children- especially the girl child spend more time in search of firewood at the expense of other productive tasks. She founded Lanforce Trading in a bid to assist women in rural communities and end energy poverty. She is passionate about addressing energy poverty in the off-grid communities motivated by her experience as a woman. She has attended numerous trainings on renewable Energy including SACREEE, Get.Invest, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) etc. and she has also been recognized by Entrepreneurship organisations like The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), Women in Africa Philanthropy (WIA54). Holds an Msc HRM with experience in HR and community interaction. She is currently studying for a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) courtesy of The Honoris Universities.

 

Malvern Murimoga

Malvern Murimoga

Malvern is the Chief Operations Officer at Lanforce Energy, has a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Midlands University and also has a Bio-Chemical Science diploma from Kushinga Phikelela Vocational college. Worked in rural communities under Environmental Management Agency projects to lessen environmental impacts and ensure that all applicable legislative requirements are fulfilled. Also involved in activities such as environmental awareness projects, sustainable development, fundraising and public consultation programs. This Brings over 6 years’ experience in environmental and community care in the operations. Through his day to day encounters in the environmental management programmes Malvern developed a passion to address energy poverty in rural communities where he regularly operated within. Through Lanforce Energy he has managed to supervise the construction and managing of up to 75 fixed Dome biogas Digesters. He has also attended various online training sessions on biogas technology and as of now running multiple workshops under Environmental Organisations.

 

Doreen Shirichena

Doreen Shirichena

Doreen (CFO) Has been with Lanforce since inception 2013. Previously served as the CFO for Boltgas International and also worked in the financial sector. Doreen has more than 8 years experience in Accounting, Financial Management, Business strategy, Policy formulation,projects and Human resource management. She holds an accounting qualification with CIMA and MBA (UNISA).She is passionate about eradicating energy poverty motivated by childhood experience.Doreen has been in the renewable sector for more than 5 years,exposed to challenges women face in communities.
